Uncovering the Shocking Truth about your Roofer: How the biggest lies are the ones that aren't told!
Main line contractor recently researched and conducted a hidden survey to gain insight on the general landscape of the local roofing industry. We randomly selected 50 out of 1000 local roofing companies and home improvement contractors, and personally called the roofers to uncover the truth!
Each company was evaluated on the following criteria:
- Do they have an actual business location (i.e. warehouse and offices)?
- Do they have employees answering customer phone calls?
- What is the company's rating with the Better Business Bureau?
Out of the sample of local roofing & home improvement companies our research concluded that:
- (14%) are out of business as of their last business update
- The other (66%) are run out of a home residential location
- And only (18%) have an actual business location (i.e. warehouse and offices)
- Only (24%) have actual employees or owners answering customer phone calls
Many of the phone calls we made were greeted by an answering machine, which raised the question, what happens when there is an emergency and your roof is leaking? Do these companies have what it takes to professionally service your roofing or home improvement project if there were ever a problem?
Take a look at more staggering statistics regarding companies and the Better Business Bureau:
- Only (18%) are accredited*
- (44%) are not accredited* but listed on the website
- (64%) do not even have a BBB rating
- From there 2 out of 3 of the rated businesses do not even achieve the highest score possible
* BBB accredited businesses are businesses and firms which meet tough accreditation standards and follow the highest principles of business ethics, and voluntary self regulation.
